Lara's Birthday
Lara aged 1 year Lara is now one year old as she had her birthday this week and she celebrated with a quick romp in the garden with Max. She is an absolute delight to live with and is the most loving and gentle cat. She and Max bring joy into my life every day with their antics and they follow me around when I am home from work wanting to investigate everything I am doing. Christmas has offered them many new challenges - every Christmas card has been carefully examined before being knocked off the shelf or the mantelpiece. Fairy lights are much harder to put up this year as they are heavier with a cat dangling from the cable and, once in place, they are scrutinised whenever they are switched on. Poor old Santa sits bravely on the windowsill and waves to the passers-by despite the fact that both Lara and Max delight in teasing him both face to face and through the curtains when they are closed at night. This year has been a challenging year - I knew at the start of 2002 that my beloved Lucy was unlikely to survive the year and when she finally succumbed to renal failure early in March I just knew that I needed another Birman to share my life. Lara joined me in March, Max in April and they have reminded me just what a lovely breed Birmans truly are. They are gentle and loving but full of fun. They adore being cuddled and fussed and both purr away happily whilst being brushed - in fact as soon as the brush appears they rush over both wanting to be first for the attention. I look forward to 2003 with anticipation and I trust that my two little companions will make it a bright and enjoyable year and that you will continue to enjoy their adventures! Seasons Greetings and best wishes for 2003 from Lara, Max and Joan!
