Halloween, Fireworks and Fun It all seems very strange here at the moment as the other night we had lots of strange little people ringing the doorbell and making scary noises. I don't think our owner was surprised and we figured something was happening when a little dish of wrapped sweets appeared by the front door at teatime. Max and I thought they were for us so we flicked them out of the dish one by one and played with them in the hall. Our owner took them off us and we noticed she gave them to the strangers at the door. It seemed to work because they went away and didn't bother us again! Later in the evening we heard lots of loud noises outside. They were really scary but our owner didn't seem bothered so we thought maybe we were safe and we settled down on the chair together in front of the fire. The bangs still seem to happen each evening and our owner says it will get worse next week when it is Bonfire Night (we think they may be 'practising'). Max and I don't know what that means but we guess it will be loud and scary so we will stay inside in the warm and hope for lots of cuddles from our owner. We had a lovely time this morning playing in the garden. We were not let out last Sunday because it was really windy and although Max and I begged at the door so that we could chase the leaves our owner said a firm NO. She told us later that a little boy was killed nearby by a falling tree so we are glad we stayed in and kept out of danger. One of our trees lost a branch and I investigated it with great care this morning. Max and I went on a frog hunt amongst the plants today. I am sure I could hear them moving but we didn't manage to catch any - still it was fun looking! When we came back inside we got chance to help our owner with the washing which was a really good excuse for a game in the bedding and under the duvet!
